Charles Coats

Area of Residence: Greater Philadelphia Area, Pa

Personal Life: Charles enjoys video games, comic books, tabletop role playing games (He has been a D&D player since middle school), playing guitar, and playing with his dog.

Current Ministry: He is the Youth and College Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church of Newark, Delaware since June 2009.   He was ordained in 2012 into the American Baptist Churches.

Ministry background:  He has been in youth ministry for the past 10 years and loves every minute of it.  Ministering to teens has always been at the forefront of Charles’s  mind and sharing with them in games and music has been his forte at every church he worked with such as Bethany Collegiate Presbyterian Church of Havertown, PA; the Salvation Army of both Boyertown and Norristown, PA; and the United Methodist Church of Media, PA.

Education background:  At Eastern University (2001-2005) he received a B.A. in Youth Ministry and minored in Fine Arts.  Charles recently graduated from Palmer Seminary (2007-2012) with a Masters in Divinity.

What is your personal reason for being involved: “Growing up in my teens I had always hoped for a ministry that would cater to my likes as a gamer and comic book nerd though I never came across any.  I hope to create, with Shattered, some amazing stories and games that both are fun and engaging to Christians and non-Christians alike.”
